Import thousands of recipients and filters automatically

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFCjhijjzwA&hd=1

With Vizubi 2 you can import thousands of recipients to whom you can deliver reports by saving them to personalized directories or as e-mail attachments.

If you need to deliver reports to lots of people, this feature will save you tons of time and help you avoid errors when manually creating them.  It will also make delivering reports centralized and easy to control

Vizubi 2 can load your contacts from databases, LDAP or from files in multiple formats like Excel, text, Outlook and many others.
It takes just a few clicks in the import wizard to set up recipient imports, and literally thousands of recipients can be imported in a few minutes which can be a huge time saver!

Have you tried to use the import wizard to import recipients?
Are there other features you’d like to see?

Reports formats: Excel, PDF, and…?

As most of you know by now, Vizubi 2.0 Beta can deliver flawless reports in either Excel or .pdf formats.

Both Excel and .pdf reports are generated from the same template, and choosing to deliver one versus the other to your contacts is only a matter of how you want them to use the information.

Advantages of pdf reports and when to use them:

  • when you only want recipients to read reports not edit them
  • output will reflect your layout perfectly including the text, fonts, graphics, and other information needed to display it
  • optimized file sizes
  • readable from almost all devices and platforms

Advantages of Excel reports and when to use them:

  • when you recipients need to be able to continue to work on the information you send them.
  • recipients need to add graphic elements or additional logic to the information
  • xls is compatible with the openoffice.org spreadsheet application

Quickly create professional Excel reports

Usability is at the heart of of Vizubi’s development.

We’ve made creating/distributing flawless reports and performing complex analyses intuitive and fast.

In a matter of minutes, pixel perfect workable Excel reports are ready to be distributed to your contacts.

That’s why drag and drop functions have been distributed throughout the interface, making most operations a no-code needed affair.

You don’t need to know SQL or how to write macros to create and distribute reports or to do dynamic data analysis, but if you do have mad technical skills, you can still use and leverage them.

Enterprise-wide implementation of Vizubi 2.0 is so incredibly easy, your IT guys will be impressed. And we’re here to help in case of any glitch.

A short list of what can be accomplished in a few clicks: build report templates directly in excel, then use all of Excel’s features like functions, formatting, pivots, subtotals, and charts.

Have you tried your hand at Vizubi 2.0 yet?

We’d like to ask you a few questions in an effort to make it better:
What are your thoughts on the graphic interface and its usability?
Have any of you built an Excel report already?
Did you encounter any kind of issue while developing your templates?

Please post any comments and suggestions to this blog: they are highly welcome, and we thank you for your invaluable input.

    Required Software

Vizubi 2.0 BETA requires you to download some additional software to enable certain features. This software is all free for commercial use (and in many cases open source):

    http://www.bullzip.com/download.php

Q  Was the Vizubi engine developed by a third party?

A  No. The basic Vizubi engine was developed entirely in-house to better maintain control over the application.

Q  Can I continue to use the Beta version forever?

A  No. Every release functions for a limited period. We don’t want out of date versions floating around for too long.

Q  What types of data can I import into Vizubi?

A  Currently, delimited text files, Excel files (.xls and .xlsx), QlikView documents, Access databases, SQLServer databases and generally any ODBC database.

Data Visualization expert Dr. Andrei Pandre gives his take on Vizubi

Andrei Pandre recently wrote an article on his blog about Vizubi, highlighting some more interesting features of our product.  Read his take on the Vizubi Excel plug-in. He made a number of suggestions for improving the product; some were already on the development roadmap and others have been added.

The whole Vizubi team wants to thank Andrei for his unbiased and critical analysis of our product and all the great suggestions which we truly appreciate.

We invite you to become fans of his excellent Blog: http://apandre.wordpress.com/.

We’d like to take the opportunity to invite you to become Vizubi Facebook fans.

Rapidly implement what-if analyses with Vizubi Report Variables

    New variables for reports

Excel what-if analysis with an high volume data set.

Excel what-if analysis with an high volume data set.

There are new types of variables which can be created in the editor and put into calculated columns in reports.

    Types of variables:

    • Edit - allows you to enter a value
    • DropDown – creates a combo box which will include a list of values (using add values)
    • Date – creates a combo box with a list of time dimension variables. Currently this can be used with variables based on time dimensions only
    • List - a button appears which allows you to select a value of the field you choose from a list of values. This is useful if there is a field with useful values in the database (sales tax when there are several possible values).Once a variable has been created, you can use it in a formula to create a calculated expression (in a Vizubi report in Excel)

Ex. You can create a “drop down” variable called sales increment and insert the following values: -10%, -5%, 0%, 5%, +5%, +10%.
If you create a report with the “Categoryname” and “Sum of Sales” fields and a calculated expression with sum of Sales * Sales Increment to do scenario planning (you can quickly shift between values to see what happens if sales drop by 10% or increase by 5%).

    Bugs and minor improvements

Create a relation between table in Excel

Create a relation between table in Excel

You can now create a relationship between columns of two tables in a Vizubi database by right clicking on one of the columns you want to put in the relationship.
You can also create new time dimensions by right clicking on any date/time field in your database.

A number of minor bugs were also resolved; cleansing fields in the database by suppressing some of the values of that field now propagates to filters as well, fields hidden on tables are no longer visible when you use the Show Details feature.

Please post your request to the Vizubi forum.
