Import from additional DBs

Importing data from MySQL, PostgreSQL and DB2 has been tested and is now supported in the Wizard. Importing from other ODBC sources is supported and should also work but have not yet been tested.

Favorites, Frequents and Recents

Parameters for Frequents and Recents

There are now two parameters in Vizubi options:
- Show the number of most recent elements: (Max. 10, default 4)
- Show the number of most frequent elements: (Max. 10, default 4)
Minimum value 1. To hide favorites or frequents, de-select the check box.

Parameter for Favorites

You can disable both frequents and recents and show only favorites with this parameter:
- Show the number of favorite elements: (from 1 to 10)
If you have more favorites than set in the parameter, the max number of favorites will be shown in order of how recently they were used or in alphabetical order if they have not been used.
This parameter is for users who don’t want to see recents or frequently used but know that they will need to access some elements regardless of use.
These parameters are applied to Reports, Bookmarks and Panels and let you create personalized pop-ups. This allows users to create personalized databases for different users so that one users sees certain favorites and another user sees different favorites.

Improved interface for Import Wizard

The import wizard has an improved interface particularly for imports from databases. The SQL statement text box now has a scroll bar so that complex queries are easier to see. There is a button which allows you to modify an existing data connection (next to the create connection and use existing connection buttons).
There is an improved summary page at the end of the import process which more clearly shows all of the parameters set during the various stages.
The import progress bar has been improved; it now shows progress in real time and creates error messages on the fly.

Updated Help

The help file has been completely updated and should now be in line with the most recent updates to the program. Because updating help is an activity which typically is longer than a sprint (our development cycle), sometimes the help file is not aligned with the most recent version.
